Boys To The Yard Milkshake

New England IPA

2 row, crystal malts, wheat malt and a bushel of oats create a light colour and slight haze. Lactose and oats contribute to a silky mouth feel and slight sweetness.  An early boil addition of Magnum bittering hops and Galaxy, Amarillo, Summit, and Mosaic hops in the late boil and whirlpool allow for approachable bitterness and a significant hop aroma.

Flying “V” West Coast IPA

ABV: 6.7%

Brewed as a tribute to the three beers, which in 2008, turned Ontario on to modern IPAs. Elements from Muskoka’s Mad Tom, Great Lake’s Canuck (Formerly “Crazy Canuck”) and Bell’s Two Hearted were incorporated into this recipe. Only Centennial hops were used in the kettle, while Centennial, Citra and Lemondrop were used in dry hopping.

Fresh peeled orange and soft pine needle on the nose. Tastes of grapefruit, orange pith and slight dankness. Slight caramel sweetness balances this hop forward West Coast IPA. Medium-Deep Orange hue and low haze.

Cranberry & Sage Belgian White IPA

Around 7.4% ABV. Unfiltered. A robust orange haze caused by yeast and residual proteins. Two yeasts were selected for this batch- one a tradition witbier yeast, the other a standard North American IPA yeast. The result is a moderate Belgian funk and aroma w/ notes of clove and slight xmas spice. Dryhopped with crushed cranberries, sage leaf and middling alpha acid hops.

The Darkest Timeline Sour Porter

The Darkest Timeline is a tart, medium-bodied sour porter with chocolate, sweet cherries and salt. A lower ABV keeps this flavour-forward, dark beer refreshing. Expect a desserty, black forest cake-like nose and flavour notes of sweet and sour cherry, bitter chocolate and sour candy.

FRA-GEE-LEY Gingerbread Brown

Fresh ginger bite w/ molasses sweetness. Bready and warm. Reminiscent of fruitcakes and gingerbread. Sure to be a holiday favourite

Lemon Tea Seltzer

ABV: 5.5%

Brewed with a blend of fresh muddled lemon verbena, orange and lemon peel and peach segments. This bright and refreshing seltzer is reminiscent of a less sugary Mike’s Hard Lemonade, road side lemonade stops and Fruity Pebbles cereal.
As the weather cools down, this drink is a perfect reminder of Summers past and Summers to come. Enjoy.

BGB Kolsch

There is a cathedral in Cologne, Germany. Construction on this Gothic behemoth started in 1248 and was finished 632 years later in 1880. The undertaking was so massive and impressive that before the original structure was, repairs were needed on other sections. This cathedral has never not been under construction; locals joke that when the cathedral is fully completed and not under construction, it must be the end of the world… But let’s talk beer.

Kölsch (Or Colognian) is the name for the regional dialect of Cologne. This name was also given to the regional beer style, which can be enjoyed across the world. Kölsch isn’t technically a lager as it uses top fermenting ale yeasts, but it is stored cold like a lager. Lagers (And lagered ales) are a double edged sword for small breweries… On the one hand, lagers are very popular and usually sell very well, but on the other hand, due to the extended lagering time, they can take over twice as long to mature in tanks as an ale. BGB has six tanks and in the workup to Oktoberfest, four of the tanks had lagers! But we thought about it: if the Colognians can take six centuries to build a proper cathedral, it’s absolutely nothing to take eight weeks to build a proper Kölsch.
BGB’s “World’s End Kölsch” is a refreshing unfiltered lagered ale crafted with traditional brewing processes. Expect clean malt flavour and a balanced Huell Melon hop component. A slight haze obscures the deep straw colour and a rich foam cap has remarkable staying power. Aroma is a rich, smelling of fresh cut hay, and slightly floral hops. Mouthfeel is richer than that of a typical lager but not cloying. This beer would go down very well whether you’re drinking from a sampler or a stein.

Artax Oated Nitro IPA

Artax (As all 70’s and 80’s kids know) is the majestic white bronco from Neverending Story. Both the horse and this beer stand for courageously leaving your comfort zone. Also, you’ll cry when they’re gone. A staggering 30% of this experimental IPA’s grain bill is oats. We wanted a rich oat mouthfeel, but that wasn’t enough. We then charged the whole batch with nitrogen instead of Carbon Dioxide. Nitrogen gas is molecularly smaller than CO2: the result is tinier, tighter bubbles which bind close to each other, forming an airtight seal of creamy goodness on the top of your glass. Artax has a silky slickness and a lingering texture reminiscent of cereal milk. The extremely potent and fruit forward Idaho 7 hop brings Artax an explosive fruit aroma like pineapple bubble tea, while the less flamboyant (but one of the brewer’s favourite) Simcoe hops bring a familiar dank terpene scent. This beer takes a little longer to pour from the nitro tap. It might seem never ending, but it’s definitely worth the wait.

Sex Panther Sweet Nitro Porter

A substantial, medium dark beer with a complex and flavorful roasted malt character. Roasted barley, chocolate and Special B malt contribute coffee, roasted nut and cocoa aroma with a toasted finish. The bitterness of dark chocolate is balanced with sweetness from the addition of lactose. The mouthfeel is an exquisitely soft, cascading slickness as Sex Panther is served exclusively on nitro in the taproom.

Cask Ale, or “Real Ale,” is a naturally carboned beer served during an active secondary fermentation and served at room temperature from a hand pump. Residual yeast is present in cask ale: gobbling up remaining sugar and producing additional alcohol and trace amounts of carbon dioxide. This unfiltered ale is a staple in British Pubs and snooty beer joints across the world and is known for bearing the true flavour of beer: free from palate-numbing coldness or perceptually acidifying extraneous carbonation.
